Austin–based group Aztex formed in 1998 by lead singer Sarah Fox and accordionist  Joel Guzman, have showcased their cross-genre music across the globe, from festivals and cultural centers, including Le Grand Soufflet in Rennes,France to the Festival Louisianne in Lafayette,LA. Through the years both artists have collaborated and performed with a galaxy of top stars including Los Super Seven, Buddy Miller, Kris Kristofferson, the late Stephen Bruton, plus many more amazing artists. Over the course of their three-decade career, Aztex has recorded 7 solo albums. The duo’s stunning performances have propelled them into the national stage garnering them three Grammy nominations and two Grammy wins in 2004 and 2005. Although Sarah is as the top of her game as one of Texas’ leading Latina singers, she easily transcends the cultural genres and barriers. Her passionate songwriting, visceral vocals, and dynamic stage presence make her on the most exciting contemporary performers anywhere. Joel Guzman has been called brilliant, extraordinary, a genius. He began dazzling audiences and fellow musicians with his unique accordion artistry as a child prodigy, causing established and respected accordion players to christen him, at an early age, “El Pequeno Gigante”. The Little Giant. Today, he is not only a superbly accomplished instrumentalist, singer, and performer, he is also a successful as an innovator, arranger and producer. 

Aztex continues to incorporate diverse styles into a sound all their own, creating an excellent fusion of Rumba, Soul, Blues, and World Cumbia.
